Godrej Woodscapes to Kempegowda International Airport (KIAL) is 30 Km. The airport can connect via Whitefield-Hoskote Main Road and SH-104 to reach the airport. Godrej Woodscapes to the Airport in Bangalore has excellent connectivity via road, rails, & Upcoming Metro. The airport serves Bangalore, Karnataka's capital city. It is on 4,000 acres and about 30 km north of town. It is close to Devanahalli.
A public-private company called Bengaluru International Airport Limited (BIAL) owns and runs it. The airport opened in May 2008 to replace HAL Airport, which was growing. It was named after Bangalore's founder, Kempe Gowda I.
About The Airport:
The passenger terminal is a single, four-story building that can handle planes from all over the world. The store's storage space, bathrooms, and customer service are all in the basement.
There is a current, easy, straight-ahead flow system between where people come in and where they go out. Because it's simple, the tool is easy to use and doesn't need much upkeep.
The floor area is 73,347m² altogether. During busy times, the building can hold 2,300 people. Based on the best practices in the business, the design lets people do things 24 hours a day, seven days a week, no matter what the weather is like.
There are fifty check-in desks with common-use terminals and eighteen self-check-in stations. A new VIP room opened on the airport's first floor on January 21, 2011.
There are forty gates and eight air bridges, one with a double arm. Nine bus stops are far away. 42 stands for planes, and each has a place to fill with fuel.
There are enough spots for 2,000 cars in front of the airport building.
That's all there is to the airport right now. One track that can fit all planes, even the Airbus A380. It's 200 feet long and has simple paving on the sides.
Planes were landing at a second airport by December 2019. It is the first airport in the country with parallel tracks that allow planes to land and take off simultaneously.
Why did the international airport come to be?
The airport was built to serve 3.5 million people a year, but that number was later raised to 12 million. The redesign made the airport bigger, adding more places to land planes. It changed the way the taxiways were laid out and added more facilities to help them.
In November 2009, Zurich Airport gave GVK Power & Infrastructure (GVKPIL) a 12% stake in the airport for $98.5 million. In December 2009, Larsen and Toubro gave GVKPIL 17% of the business. In October 2011, Siemens gave them another 14%.
Siemens Project Ventures (26%), Unique Zurich Airport (5%), AAI (13%), and GVKPIL (43%) are the companies that own shares in the project.
